January 30, 2012 (week 20)

AP Physics 12 - This week we will get started with chapter 9 Torque and Equilibrium. Reminder of the chapter 6/7 test on February 1.

Physics 12 - This week we will get started with chapter 9 Torque and Equilibrium.

Physics 11 - We are currently studying chapter 12 Thermal Energy. This week we will study latent heat (heat of fusion and heat of vaporization) and learn to solve problems involving the transfer of heat energy.

Science 10 - Reminder of the mock English 10 Provincial Exam on Wednesday, February 1. For the remainder of this school year this Science 10 class will be taught by Mr. Dhanani in room 311. Continued success to all my students and it has been a pleasure teaching you and I look forward to seeing you again in grades 11 and 12.

January 23, 2012 (week 19)

AP Physics 12 - This week we will continue our studies of Simple Harmonic Motion (mass on a spring and pendulums). Reminder of the chapter 6/7 Test on February 1.

Physics 12 - We will finish studying chapter 7 Momentum (collisions in two dimensions). Reminder of the chapter 6/7 test on January 31.

Physics 11 - Reminder of the test on chapters 10.1 and chapter 11 on January 25. This week we will get started with chapter 12 Thermal Energy.

Science 10 - We will finish chapter 5 and have the chapter 5 test on January 25. Students should complete all of workbook chapter 5 in preparation for the test.

January 17, 2012 (week 18)

AP Physics 12 - This week we will study Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM) which relates to pendulums and masses oscillating on a spring.

Physics 12 - This week we will get started with chapter 7 Momentum and Impulse. We will have a chapter 6 quiz covering work, energy and power. Big test in a few weeks will cover Energy and Momentum (chapters 6 & 7).

Physics 11 - This week we will finish up chapter 11 Mechanical Energy Conservation.

Science 10 - We will study chapter 5.3 Organic Compounds. Students should complete workbook chapter 5 in preparation for the chapter 5 Test on January 25.

January 10, 2012 (week 17)

AP Physics 12 - This week we will study the conservation of momentum in linear collisions and also 2-dimensional collisions.

Physics 12 - We are currently studying chapter 6 Work, Energy, and Power. We will learn how total mechanical energy is conserved and solve a variety of problems involving kinetic energy, potential energy, and total energy.

Physics 11 - We are studying chapter 10.1 Work, Energy and Power. This week we will learn about kinetic energy and potential energy.

Science 10 - We will complete chapter 5.1 on Acids and Bases and get started with section 5.2 on Salts. Reminder of the Quiz on January 12 covering section 5.1

Welcome back to school everyone. I wish you all a very happy and rewarding New Year!

AP Physics 12 - We will be finishing chapter 6 Work, Energy and Power. Then we will get started with chapter 7 Momentum.

Physics 11 - We will review Dynamics (study of forces) and then continue with chapter 10.1 Work, Energy and Power.

Science 10 - We are starting chapter 5, the chemistry of Acids and Bases. This week we will do a few labs involving universal indicators to determine the pH of common acids and bases.

December 12, 2011 (week 15)

AP Physics 12 - This week we will continue to study chapter 6 Work, Energy and Power.

Physics 12 - We are starting chapter 6 Work, Energy and Power. Reminder of the chapter 5 test on December 14.

Physics 11 - Reminder of the chapter 9 Momentum Test on December 14.

Science 10 - Reminder of the chapter 4 Chemistry Test on December 15.
