May 5, 2008 (week 33)

AP Physics 12 - Monday, May 5 is our last AP class and then the AP Exams begin. We will resume classes on May 21. Reminder of the chapter 20 Circuits Test on May 23.

Physics 12 - Reminder of the chapter 21 Magnetism test on May 5. This week we will get started on the final chapter in our course, Chapter 22 Electromagnetism.

Physics 11 - Reminder of the chapter 14 Waves test on May 6. This week we will continue to do lab activities in chapter 17 Reflection and Refraction of Light.

Science 8 - We have started chapter 4 Waves. Students must complete all of workbook chapter 4 in preparation for the test in a few weeks.

Math 9 - Reminder of the re-tests for chapter 4 Polynomials, and chapter 7 Area and Volume, on May 6. This week we will continue to learn the material in chapter 5. Students must complete the practice problems in each section of chapter 5.

April 28, 2008 (week 32)

AP Physics 12 - This week we will go over Bernoulli's Theorem and equation. We will also learn about the Photoelectric Effect. We should have time to write one more practice AP Exam in class before the actual exams get underway.

Physics 12 - This week we will finish chapter 21 Magnetism. Students should complete a minimum of 25 problems in preparation for the chapter 21 test on May 5.

Physics 11 - This week we will finish chapter 14 Waves. Students should complete a minimum of 25 problems in preparation for the chapter 14 test on May 6.

Science 8 - Students should complete all of workbook chapter 3 in preparation for the chapter 3 test on April 28. Mr. Fuerderer will begin chapter 4 Waves on Wednesday, April 30.
We are nearly finished the course with only three more chapters to go (chapters 4, 5, and 6). Reminder to get started on your electronic project if you've not yet done so.


Math 9 - We will continue to study material in Chapter 5 Factoring Expressions. Students should complete all of the practice problems in each section of chapter 5. Reminder of the re-tests for chapters 4 and 7 on Tuesday, May 6.

April 21, 2008 (week 31)

AP Physics 12 - We will finish chapter 22 Electromagnetism this week. We will also learn about the Photoelectric Effect (quantum physics). Students must complete 6 problems from old AP Exams on electricity and electromagnetism. Reminder of the Practice AP Exams from 3:30 to 9:30 on April 21. Free pizza dinner provided by the science department!

Physics 12 - We are currently studying chapter 21 Magnetism. Students must complete a minimum of 25 problems in preparation for the chapter 21 test on May 5.

Physics 11 - We are studying chapter 14 Waves. In addition to the lab activities students must complete a minimum of 25 problems in preparation for the chapter 14 test, date TBA.

Science 8 - Mr. Grewal will get started with Chapter 3 Immune System. He is nearing the end of his student teacher practicum and we wish him all the best as he embarks upon his teaching career. Students should complete workbook chapter 3 in preparation for the chapter 3 test, date TBA.

Math 9 - We are studying chapter 5 Factoring Polynomials. Students should complete the practice problems in each section of chapter 5.

April 14, 2008 (week 30)

AP Physics 12 - This week we will study chapter 22 Electromagnetism. We want to finish the course this week so that next week we can do some review in preparation for the AP Exam in May. Reminder of the AP Practice Exam session to be held on Monday, April 21 from 3:30 to 9:30 PM. Free pizza dinner to be provided by the science department!

Physics 12 - Reminder of the chapter 20 Circuits Test on April 17. This week we start chapter 21 Magnetism. Students must complete a minimum of 25 problems in preparation for the chapter 21 test, date TBA.

Physics 11 - Reminder of the chapter 12 Thermal Energy Test on April 14. This week we start chapter 14 waves.

Science 8 - Reminder of the chapter 2 Body Systems Test on April 14. This week Mr. Grewal will start chapter 3 Immune System. This is a great chapter for students who have not yet completed a science project. They should look through the chapter and find a topic to explore (virus, bacteria, diseases, other). The project must be an electronic presentation to the classroom - PowerPoint, photo slide show, video infomercial, etc.

Math 9 - Reminder of the chapter 4 Polynomials test on April 16. This week we begin chapter 5. Students must complete the practice problems in each section of chapter 5.

April 7, 2008 (week 29)

AP Physics 12 - We continue to race to finish the curriculum by the end of April so this week we will complete chapter 21 Magnetism. Reminder that we will write the chapter 20, 21 and 22 tests after the AP exams in late May. Reminder that Monday, April 21 from 3:30 - 9:30 we will have practice AP EXAMS for Physics, Chem and Biology. Students will write two different practice exams in six hours. Free pizza to be provided by the science department! Please share this information with other AP students.

Physics 12 - We will finish up chapter 20 this week. Students must complete a minimum of 25 problems in preparation for the chapter 20 test on April 17.

Physics 11 - We will finish up chapter 12 this week. Students must complete a minimum of 25 problems in preparation for the chapter 12 test on April 14.

Science 8 - Mr. Grewal (UBC) will wrap up chapter 2 Body Systems this week. Students must complete all of workbook chapter 2 in preparation for the chapter 2 test on April 14.

Math 9 - We are currently in the middle of chapter 4 Polynomials and this week we will learn how to multiply and divide polynomials. Students should complete the practice problems in each section of chapter 4 in preparation for the chapter 4 test on April 16.
